Geology 180: Geology of Yosemite National Park-October 9-11, 2015

Great Western Divide from Moro Rock

Yosemite National Park is one of the crown jewels of the National Park system in the United States. The incredible glacial trough of Yosemite Valley is justly famous, but it is a small part of the entire park. This three day trip will explore some of the other incredible locales in the park, including Glacier Point on the rim of the valley, the Tuolumne Grove of Sequoia trees, and the alpine environment of Tuolumne Meadows and Tioga Pass

It should be understood that this trip can be a rigorous test of your patience and health. There will be several long drives, and conditions may become harsh, and rain, snow, and extreme cold are serious possibilities. The success of the trip will depend on your amiability and willingness to put up with inclement conditions.
